A hand-modeled natural clay bottle handcrafted by Felipe García in Santa María Atzompa, Oaxaca, a community with a longstanding tradition of ceramic craftsmanship. Inspired by the distinctive silhouette of a cactus, the vessel transforms a familiar element of the Oaxacan landscape into a sculptural form. Its elongated body and branching contours give the piece a strong vertical presence, while the subtle irregularities of the handmade clay preserve the character of the artisan's touch.
Finished with red engobe and carefully burnished by hand, the surface reveals a soft, earthy quality that emphasizes the organic character of the cactus-inspired form. Fired in a traditional kiln, the piece brings together natural clay, traditional finishing techniques, and an expressive sculptural approach, making it both a decorative vessel and a distinctive work of Oaxacan ceramic art.
