A red clay ceramic tea set by Elia Mateo of Taller Mujeres del Barro Rojo in Tlapasola, Oaxaca — each piece hand-formed from the warm clay of the Central Valleys, finished with mineral engobes that give the surface its characteristic earthy depth. Tea in these vessels becomes a different kind of ceremony: unhurried, rooted, connected to the hands that made them. A rare functional set from a tradition that rarely turns its attention to the table.
