Aranjuez Yawitl

A sculptor and maker of forms that breathe. She holds a degree in Visual Arts from the ENAP, the National School of Fine Arts of UNAM, and has deepened her practice through diploma courses and workshops across many materials, a craft she understands as both destiny and discipline.

Her language is sculpture. She works clay, cloth, wood, bronze and stone as if calling up ancient memories. For Aranjuez Yawitl, sculpture serves a cosmic power: we are only a means to represent what lies beyond us, and all that belongs to us is the choice of what to shape that mystery into, and with what.

The daughter of Oaxacan parents, she has lived in Oaxaca City since 2003, a land where matter speaks with the sacred. In 2007 she founded her design and art studio, Pangolín Diseños, a space of creation and metamorphosis. She has shown in group and solo exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally.
