Diego Salazar

Diego is an artist and designer currently based in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at The Cooper Union in 2016 and has worked for renowned firms like The Unionworks, Robert Couturier, Inc., and Roman & Williams.

 

The company is named after Diego's favorite geometric shape, the rhombus, which, over the years, became a symbolic figure in his work and identity. Diego leads as Director of Studio Rombo and who has plans for many artistic, architectural, and social projects that are to be innovative, educational, and sustainable for Mexico and beyond. ​

Maro Reyez

Born and raised in Oaxaca, Maro is passionate about Oaxacan culture, its conservation and diffusion. From the age of 15, he began to understand the culture of this Mexican state, from seeing art exhibitions and working hands-on with artisans, he understands and deeply values Oaxaca’s cultural heritage, which has become part of his daily life. 

 

Just a few years ago Maro began to maintain contact with the great masters of Popular Art in Oaxaca, giving himself the task of working with them for a common good, which is the dissemination of their great work.

Maro is the Director of the Rombo store and main talent scout.

 

Fidel Ugarte​

Fidel began his career as a photographer in 1990. Since then, he has developed a body of work that explores memory, identity, and time, using photography as a medium to reinterpret reality through light and experience.

​

He has participated in 23 solo and group exhibitions, contributed to 11 publications—six of them authored individually—and his work has been featured by institutions such as UNAM, UAM, INAH, and Luna Córnea, among others. He is also the director of the documentary Añil, los hombres del azul (Indigo: The Men of Blue).

Fernando Cortés Santiago​​

Born in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, bis a writer, poet, and translator. He holds a degree in Language Teaching from the Universidad Regional del Sureste. His work explores memory, time, and loss through an intimate and reflective literary voice.

​

He is the author of un amor d’enfant (2020), Tiempo de Aguas (2022), ténebras (2023), and hyper.on.dead.o (2024). In 2025, he was included in the anthology Mezcalito City II: Registro de poesía en Oaxaca, further establishing his presence in contemporary Oaxacan literature. He currently collaborates with Cuatro Triángulos, Laboratorio Editorial.
