A large-scale nickel mirror — A Piece of Manhattan — conceived by Diego Salazar and fabricated by master hojalatero Miguel Ángel Agüero Pacheco at his Taller Hoja de Lata in Oaxaca City. The piece was part of the New York Titans exhibition, December 2021, where it served as the series' single three-dimensional work: the skyline of Manhattan rendered in the reflective surface of hand-worked nickel, so that every viewer who stood before it saw themselves inside the city. Agüero Pacheco, who has spent over six decades mastering the traditional Oaxacan craft of hojalatería, fabricated the mirror from tin and nickel with the precision his workshop has maintained for three generations. A unique collaboration between a Mexico City-born architect-artist and one of Oaxaca's great living craftsmen.
