A cross pendant in silver filigree by the Salgado Téllez Sisters of Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, Oaxaca. The cross is among the oldest forms in Oaxacan silversmithing — present in the jewelry of the colonial period and worn continuously since — and the sisters approach it with the same fine-wire filigree technique they bring to every piece: each thread placed by hand, the whole structure open and luminous, the silver breathing rather than solid.
