Flores de la Vida — Flowers of Life — a mask from the Oaxaca Series conceived by Diego Salazar and fabricated by Margarita Sumano Santos. The Masks series grew from Salazar's conviction that the mask — one of the oldest objects in human culture — could be reimagined as a site of collaboration and meaning-making. Each design carries a visual idea; each fabrication by Margarita brings it into physical form. This piece, with its floral subject, speaks to the continuity of life as both natural fact and cultural insistence: flowers as ceremony, as adornment, as the fundamental assertion that beauty persists.
