A set of two ceramic cups handcrafted at Taller Derrumbe in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, inspired by the traditional form and visual language of the jícara. Their compact, rounded silhouettes echo the organic character of this ancestral vessel, while the sgraffito decoration introduces carefully incised patterns across the surface. Mineral pigments add subtle variations of color, creating a dialogue between the carved designs and the ceramic body.
Made from high-temperature ceramic, the cups combine a traditional Oaxacan reference with a contemporary approach to form and ornament. Their tactile surfaces and intimate scale make them well suited for everyday use while also allowing the craftsmanship and graphic character of the decoration to be appreciated as part of the objects themselves.
