In the heart of San Antonino Castillo Velasco, Oaxaca, master potter José García Antonio and his wife pose in front of their workshop, surrounded by clay, silence, and memories. Seated together, like two roots deep in the earth, they have worked all their lives, he with his wide-brimmed hat and serene gaze that seems to see through his hands, she with the dignity woven into her blouse and the gentle strength of one who has been his companion, guide, and support. After losing his sight, José transformed darkness into touch and touch into art, molding figures that tell stories of the town and of daily life; by his side, his wife has been his partner and pillar in every piece created. This image captures more than a portrait: it is a testament to a shared love of clay, resilience, and the beauty born when two souls work in unison.
