A silver filigree sun pendant in rose, made by the Salgado Téllez Sisters in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, Oaxaca. The sun is among the oldest and most resonant symbols in Mesoamerican culture, and the sisters render it in their signature technique of fine silver wire worked by hand into intricate, open forms that catch and hold the light. The rose tint deepens the warmth of the symbol: a sun made of silver that still somehow reads as warm.
