A flower pot in the form of Teresita — the wife and lifelong muse of master ceramicist José Garcia Antonio — made at Taller Manos Que Ven in San Antonino Castillo Velasco, Oaxaca. Teresita's face appears throughout the workshop's work as a recurring presence: her beauty mark, her gaze, the particular quality of a face that has been loved into familiarity by decades of being observed and made. Here she holds a plant, the pot and the portrait merged into one domestic and deeply personal object.
